Worship
Worship at First Presbyterian Church

Each Sunday morning at 8:00 am and 10:00 am (9:00 am in the summer) worshipers gather in our Sanctuary. We come to glorify God, but people show up dressed all sorts of ways. The language and style of the pastors is informal and energetic, while our music tends more toward the traditional side. Piano, pipe organ and choir lead us in music, the bell choir plays a couple times a month too.

The preaching is Biblically grounded and reflects the connection the Bible has with our lives. We pray together lifting up our concerns and joys. On the third Sunday of each month at the 8:00 am service and the first Sunday of each month at the 10:00 am service we celebrate communion together. Everyone who trusts Jesus as their Lord and Savior is invited to join us at the table.

Afternoons of the third Sunday find us bringing worship at the nearby assisted living facility of Sugarland Ridge. A recent survey of our church members listed Worship as one of the things we do best. Since Sheridan is a tourist town we expect and enjoy visitors, many of whom comment on how at home they felt here.
  • Quality childcare is available for children under the age of 2.
  • Church school is at 9:00 am for children kindergarten through 12th grade.
  • A hearing assist is available for anyone who may need it.
  • First Presbyterian Church is handicapped accessible.

Sugarland Ridge Worship

In cooperation with other churches in the Sheridan area, FPC brings worship to the residents of Sugarland Ridge Retirement Home.  Our Sunday is every third Sunday of the month.  We bring a full worship service to Sugarland, including a Call to Worship, Prayer of Confession/Assurance of Pardon, Prayers of the People, reading of Scripture, and preaching of the Word.  And of course, there is the residents’ favorite – music.  Usually, we bring a piano player to the service, but at various times we have also brought a harmonica player, a flutist, and even the FPC bell choir, the Hilltop Ringers.

The Sugarland Ridge folks love to have visitors and worship is always more special when more people come.  Furthermore, you'll find yourself blessed by these great folks.  So, come on down and worship with us in the Dining Hall at Sugarland Ridge every 3rd Sunday of the month at 2:00 pm.

Girl's School Worship

Every six weeks, First Presbyterian Church takes worship to the Wyoming Girl's School on Sunday at 4:00pm.
